I am able to serve anyone that lives in the state of Kansas by offering a telehealth option. I also offer in person therapy. My office is located inside the Founder’s Place Indy Building at 107 N Pennsylvania, Independence, Kansas, 67301.

I use a platform called Sessions Health. Sessions Health is a HIPAA compliant platform that allows us to meet virtually. Online therapy is proven to be just as effective as in person therapy. Online therapy allows me to serve clients across the entire state of Kansas. It also allows me to offer an option to clients I would typically see in person, virtually, if they aren't able to make it in to the office due to scheduling restraints.

Yes! In person sessions are available at my office inside the Founders Place Indy building, located at 107 N. Pennsylvania, Independence, Kansas, 67301. We can also work together using a hybrid model, you can come in person when able or do telehealth if unable to come in person. I am comfortable with either.

Each individual session is $125 per session. Each session will last approximately between 45 and 55 minutes. Expect sessions to initially be once weekly. It is possible this moves to biweekly and even monthly as treatment progresses, depending on different factors. Any changes in frequency will be mutually agreed upon.

I do not take insurance, but you may be able to use your Out of Network (OON) benefits. There are several reason I don't take insurance.
Why Clinicians Do Not Take Insurance: These involve enhanced quality of care and other advantages.
You are in control of your care, including choosing your therapist, length of treatment, etc.
Increased privacy and confidentiality (except for limits of confidentiality).
Not having a mental health disorder diagnosis on your medical record.
Consulting with me on non-psychiatric issues that are important to you that aren’t billable by insurance, such as learning how to cope with life changes, gaining more effective communication techniques for your relationships, increasing personal insight, and developing healthy new skills.
After reading my position on why I don’t accept health insurance, you still may decide to use your health insurance. If you provide me with a list of therapists on your insurance provider list, I will do my best to recommend a therapist for you.

Here's how it works:
1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.co/inviteclient/CiyQq2oskJs0CNLAjcaT
2. Our practice will enter your sessions into the platform.
3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.
4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

If at the end of your free consultation we have decided we are a good fit to work with each other, we will schedule your first appointment. At your first appointment, we will review intake paperwork to ensure proper completion. We will ensure your questions are fully answered. Then, we will establish boundaries and discuss treatment goals. We will discuss the plans for treatment moving forward.

Treatment length varies depending on each person and their unique needs. The type of interventions I use in session are intentional and to the point. On average, treatment is 6-10 sessions. It’s important to know this could be more, but also may be less. It is all dependent on progress and response to treatment. I won’t rush, but I also will not prolong treatment if unnecessary and you are able to be discharged. Therapy is not meant to be forever! The goals are designed with discharge in mind. Termination of services should be a mutual agreement once treatment goals are met and symptoms are reduced. We will regularly review your progress and make adjustments as needed.
-
I do not offer an option for one session. However, once treatment is complete, it may be possible to return for fewer sessions than the initial treatment length in instances where a “refresher” is needed. This can be further discussed at consultation if you have additional questions.
-
Expect a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where you can openly share what’s on your mind. I will be honest with you and challenge you, all while supporting and empowering you to take control of your life to achieve your desired outcome. You are the expert on your own life and will stay in the driver’s seat. I love my job and take it very seriously, but also stay grounded. We’re all human.

Effective January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the “No Surprises Act,” which requires mental health practitioners to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) about out-of-network care to any patient who is uninsured or who is insured but does not plan to use their insurance benefits to pay for health care items and/ or services.
You are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person upon the initiation of psychotherapy, the GFE provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you.
Additional information about Good Faith Estimates are provided at intake.
